So amazed!

So Samantha is going to be 6 months old in exactly one week. I am amazed at how quickly she is growing and learning new things!

We started her on cereal August 29th. She loves it! It is so adorable watching her eat! She gets so excited when she sees her spoons and that little container. She also sat up all by herself on September 12! She can only do it for a few seconds at a time, but she can do it! She leans forward still, but she is getting there!

We are going to have her 6 month pictures done next week, and I am hoping she is sitting better by then. I also have a few ideas for pictures I want. We will see how they turn out! I'm sure we will be able to get some of her smiling, since she smiles so much now!

We are moving next weekend, so things have been pretty hectic! I will post again next week sometime around her 6 month "birthday". We will be giving her the first taste of veggies on her 6 month "birthday", so I will definitely post pictures!

5 months!

The time is flying by. 5 months already. My baby is almost half a year old! It's amazing. When I was pregnant, the time went so slow. The weeks just ticked by. And now that she is here, it's like time has sped up times 10. It's just so unreal. I can't believe how fast she is learning things, and how often she is doing new things.

I sometimes miss my tiny baby girl, that would just lay in my arms, content to stare into my eyes. I could just stare back and talk to her. Kiss her. Love her. Now I hold her in my arms, and she wiggles and squirms. She wants to play. She still stares into my eyes and we have great bonding time as she nurses, but it's just not as often as it used to be. I love that she likes to play though. She gets so excited, and it's the greatest feeling in the world. Seeing her so happy. She is laughing regularly now. She loves when daddy puts his head on her stomach. She pulls his hair and laughs like there is nothing funnier in the world. She likes to be tickled, and she has a ticklish spot now.

She is the master at toe eating. Her toes or fingers are almost always in her mouth, and now she has discovered her blankets can go in there too. When she goes down for bed, she lays there and plays with her blanket and eventually falls asleep. She puts all her toys in her mouth, and chews on everything. She is fascinated by hands. You can hold your hand in front of her and she watches your fingers move around. She grabs for them and makes a game of trying to get your fingers and put them in her mouth.

She is such a happy baby. We haven't started cereal yet, but we are thinking about doing it soon. She doesn't seem to need it now, and we figure, why give it to her if she doesn't seem to need it? When she turns 6 months though, even if she doesn't seem to need it, we will start cereal and veggies. I am very excited to see how she reacts to the veggies. I think she will love them!

She is scooting herself all over the place, and she completely turns herself around so she can see what she wants to see. She loves her toys and stuffed animals. She has this worm/bug thing that lights up and talks to her, and she loves it. It is her favorite toy. She is everything that I ever could have asked for and more. I love my baby. I love my family.

4 months

Samantha was 4 months old last Saturday... It has taken me a long time to update. She is getting so big, and so strong. She still has not rolled over, but she is getting very close! She can push herself up with her arms and hold there to look around for a few minutes at a time. She pushes off with her leg, and can almost make it over, but she can't get over her arm quite yet. It is coming soon though. I am excited. While she is pushed up with her arms, she can get up onto her knees JUST A LITTLE BIT. I cannot believe how big she is getting. She also recentely, discovered her TOES! It is so cute, watching her reach for those little toes and grab on as tight as she can!

We went to the dr. last week and she weighs 14 pounds, 15 1/2 ounces and is 26 inches long! She is in the 75% for her weight and 95% for her height. She is a growing girl! We got the go-ahead to start feeding her some rice ceral soon, so I think we will start that this week sometime. She has been waking up around every hour lately at night, and it's running its toll on daddy. For some reason, I can sleep right through it. He says he just gets up as fast as he can so I don't wake up, since I have to work. But he just gives her back her paci, and she falls back alseep. We are hoping if we give her cereal in the evenings, she won't wake up so often. We will see.

We are finally going to move!!! Samantha will get her own bedroom, and I am very excited to paint and decorate it! I missed doing that when I was pregnant. The plan is to save money over the next year, and buy a house next fall.

changing

So Samantha is changing sooo much. We are still waiting for her to roll over.... but it seems like she is getting there. Pretty soon! She is starting to grasp her toys on her own now as well.

She "talks" soo much, we call her "Little Miss Chatterbox". I love hearing her talking to herself. She is generally a very happy baby, although lately, she has been having crying fits right before bedtime. She just wants to scream. Nothing we do can calm her down it seems. Hopefully she grows out of this phase soon.

She smiles so much now, it is so incredible to think back 3 months at how tiny she was. At her last dr. appt. she was 13 pounds, 2 ounces! Thats from her start weight of 7 pounds, 12 ounces a little over 3 months ago!

I cannot believe how unbelievably lucky I am to have Dustin. And that tiny precious baby girl, who is the light of my life.

3 months

It's so hard to believe that just 3 months ago, I was sitting in the hospital, in labor. Waiting for Samantha to make her debut. Little did I know I would be having a c-section later in the evening.

I can't believe that time has gone so fast. I've been back to work since Monday and I hate leaving her at home without me. But at least she is with her daddy. Samantha has a cold, and it seems like it really bothers her. She has been crying a lot and is hard to calm down. Her appetite is great though! She has had some low-grade fevers, but the doctors aren't concerned. I just can't wait for her to get better. She is stuffy and I'm pretty sure she is just not feeling well overall. My poor baby.

Other than that, life is good. As always. I can't think of a way life could not be good... with such a perfect little family. Dustin and I are still looking for a new place to live, and we are not having such good luck with finding anything. Hopefully we will find something in the next 3 months.

I can't believe Samantha has been here for a quarter of a year!

*sighs* Life is good. Life is very good.

Back to work

After I had Samantha, I had 8 weeks off work for maternity leave. I came back to work for one day and then ended up with the gall bladder surgery.

Yesterday was my first day back since then and it went fine. I was kept busy and didn't really have much time to let it get to me.

This morning I have been at work for 20 minutes and I can feel the tightening in my chest and throat. I am going to cry. I just know it. I can't stand being away from her and it actually HURTS that I am not with her. I miss her so much already. I don't know how I am going to make it through the rest of the day, let alone the rest of the week. I keep telling myself that in 8 1/2 hours, I will be home and I can spend as much time with Samantha as I want... but 8 1/2 hours??? That is FOREVER away.

While I was off work I kept hearing from co-workers how busy it is here. Well... wrong. I spent a good chunk of yesterday just trying to come up with stuff to do. And this morning I am just waiting. Waiting for stuff to do. I can't take it. I really want to be able to quit my job and be a stay at home mom, but I just can't.

I desperately want Dustin to bring Samantha to visit me for lunch today, but I have the car seat in my car. So I just have to wait... only 8 1/2 hours til I walk into my house. 8 1/2 more hours til I get to cuddle with my precious baby girl.

Let's hope it goes fast.
