changing

So Samantha is changing sooo much. We are still waiting for her to roll over.... but it seems like she is getting there. Pretty soon! She is starting to grasp her toys on her own now as well.

She "talks" soo much, we call her "Little Miss Chatterbox". I love hearing her talking to herself. She is generally a very happy baby, although lately, she has been having crying fits right before bedtime. She just wants to scream. Nothing we do can calm her down it seems. Hopefully she grows out of this phase soon.

She smiles so much now, it is so incredible to think back 3 months at how tiny she was. At her last dr. appt. she was 13 pounds, 2 ounces! Thats from her start weight of 7 pounds, 12 ounces a little over 3 months ago!

I cannot believe how unbelievably lucky I am to have Dustin. And that tiny precious baby girl, who is the light of my life.

3 months

It's so hard to believe that just 3 months ago, I was sitting in the hospital, in labor. Waiting for Samantha to make her debut. Little did I know I would be having a c-section later in the evening.

I can't believe that time has gone so fast. I've been back to work since Monday and I hate leaving her at home without me. But at least she is with her daddy. Samantha has a cold, and it seems like it really bothers her. She has been crying a lot and is hard to calm down. Her appetite is great though! She has had some low-grade fevers, but the doctors aren't concerned. I just can't wait for her to get better. She is stuffy and I'm pretty sure she is just not feeling well overall. My poor baby.

Other than that, life is good. As always. I can't think of a way life could not be good... with such a perfect little family. Dustin and I are still looking for a new place to live, and we are not having such good luck with finding anything. Hopefully we will find something in the next 3 months.

I can't believe Samantha has been here for a quarter of a year!

*sighs* Life is good. Life is very good.

Back to work

After I had Samantha, I had 8 weeks off work for maternity leave. I came back to work for one day and then ended up with the gall bladder surgery.

Yesterday was my first day back since then and it went fine. I was kept busy and didn't really have much time to let it get to me.

This morning I have been at work for 20 minutes and I can feel the tightening in my chest and throat. I am going to cry. I just know it. I can't stand being away from her and it actually HURTS that I am not with her. I miss her so much already. I don't know how I am going to make it through the rest of the day, let alone the rest of the week. I keep telling myself that in 8 1/2 hours, I will be home and I can spend as much time with Samantha as I want... but 8 1/2 hours??? That is FOREVER away.

While I was off work I kept hearing from co-workers how busy it is here. Well... wrong. I spent a good chunk of yesterday just trying to come up with stuff to do. And this morning I am just waiting. Waiting for stuff to do. I can't take it. I really want to be able to quit my job and be a stay at home mom, but I just can't.

I desperately want Dustin to bring Samantha to visit me for lunch today, but I have the car seat in my car. So I just have to wait... only 8 1/2 hours til I walk into my house. 8 1/2 more hours til I get to cuddle with my precious baby girl.

Let's hope it goes fast.

bath time

I gave Samantha a bath tonight and she cracked me up! She LOVES bath time and gets sooo excited when she is put in the water. She kicks and splashes all over the place at just under 3 months old! It is amazing how big my baby girl is getting. Sitting in her bath tub she smiles and talks and you can just tell she is getting so excited. I can't wait for her to get older and laugh and play with her toys. Then again, I am really enjoying this stage of her life. She is the most amazing daughter ever!

2 1/2 months

Samantha is two and a half months now! I can't believe how fast she is growing. She "talks" a lot now, and smiles are coming like crazy! She is such a happy baby!

We brought her to the doctor this past week and she is already 12 pounds, 2 ounces! I can't believe it! She can support her head so well. She also really likes her tongue. She sticks it out, and then pulls it back in, kind of like a little lizard :-) She has also discovered her hands, she sticks them in her mouth and sucks on her fist. It is adorable.

She is my pride and joy, and I couldn't have imagined life any better.

Being a mom

As I sit here and watch my baby girl lay on the couch next to me, just staring up at me with such trust, I feel like life can't get any better. I am sitting here thinking of just how fast my baby girl will grow up. She'll go to pre-school, then kindergarten. Then first grade. Soon she will be in middle school, and then high school. I just can't seem to help wondering what the future has in store for my precious little girl. Will she go to college? Or will she just find a job straight out of school? I am hoping she makes all the right decisions for her future, but those are her decisions alone to make. Eventually, I hope she will get married, and then have some little precious little ones of her own. Hopefully, a good 25 years down the road or so. As I sit here and watch my 10 week old daughter, I can't help but think of her future. And just how proud of her I already am.

Tonight, she is full of smiles and in such a good mood. I still haven't been able to catch a smile in a picture, but hopefully she allows it soon. As me and Dustin lay there together watching her and playing with her, I realize just how lucky and blessed I am to have her. She is SUCH a good baby. Already sleeping through the night for a few weeks now, and not really crying at all unless something is bothering her. She gets quite a few tummy aches... we think because of the formula. But they are getting better, and she started nursing again this morning. Hopefully her tummy aches will go away soon!

She does love attention from her mommy and daddy though, and she definitely lets us know when it is time for her attention. Not that we need to be asked twice! She is most definitely the best accomplishment in our lives. We couldn't have imagined it any better. <3

2 Months

Samantha is already 2 months old. It is so hard to believe she has been in our lives for that long. She is growing unbelievably fast, and changing sooo fast!

She is full of smiles now! She had her 2 month appt last Thursday, and she was 11 pounds, 3 ounces and 23 inches long. She is getting sooo big. She is still wearing 0-3 month clothes, but some of them are getting a bit too short for her.

Today, I came home from the hospital from having the surgery, and we spent the day hanging out at home. Samantha was in such a good mood today! Full of smiles and grins, and just staring around at everything. She is so alert now!She is eating right now with daddy and we are watching MTV movie awards. I just love our family time.
